Great Barney Bake-Off
Hi Again,
Wait till I tell ye what we've been up to at Axiom Belfast, to support our good friends at Barnardo's - my charity. We had a Great Barney Bake Off and I was the chief Judge. The contestants made some yummy cakes .. they were gorgeous ..
It was a really hard job, to decide who the winner was .. I had to have quite a few slices of each cake before I could cast my vote .. but I managed.
The winners were, Anna, Beth and Neil .. Well Done to all.
Here I am with my fellow judges after a great day's work ..
Very enjoyable day and we made lots of money for our Barnardo's children.
Thank You to all ....

Marc's Heroics for Bernardo's & a Milestone for Axiom Belfast
Hi everyone,
First, I have to say a big Sorry to my good friend Marc in Belfast for the delay in writing about his fantastic achievement of completing the Belfast Half Marathon for Bernardo's, my charity.
Marc, everyone at Bernardo's and at Axiom is so proud of you. Thank you so much on behalf of all the children we support.

Here's Marc's message to all his fans
Hey guys,
Yesterday I ran the 2014 Belfast Half Marathon to raise
funds and awareness for the partner charity of our axiom engage project;
Barnardos NI.
Throwing on a T-Shirt with the white and green colours of
Barnardos NI, I felt a healthy bit of pride for how much our axiom engage
project has developed in such a short space of time. We now have a flourishing
partnership with the charity, with a high level of awareness and an actively
engaged office of axiomites!
The excitement and buzz grew as myself and the other
3,800 runners left the Kings Hall and onto the leafy suburbs of South Belfast,
passing the University area we headed into Belfast City centre past the axiom
Belfast office and towards the Belfast Harbour Estate. Running alongside the
cranes which built the Titanic; myself and the other runners kept one foot in
front of the other with steely determination. We then rounded into the newly
developed Victoria Park and then back towards the Kings Hall to finish.
Clutching the winners medal I slowly made the long walk
home, feeling ‘well chuffed’ helping to keep momentum with the axiom engage
project and hopefully raising a few funds.
If you can spare few coins please support us by donating
through just giving:
We will let Barney steal the show and pose with the
impressive participants medal.
Here’s to looking forward to the 2015 full Belfast
Marathon, anyone fancy creating a relay team…?
Cheers,
Marc
Well Done Marc !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Shortly after Marc's heroics, Axiom Belfast (I'm quite emotional at this ..it's my home site ..) celebrated our 100th Team Member. We were all so excited - we had a big party, with champagne and balloons .. great day. Here's the party :
Barney's tour of Wroclaw
Hello again,
I've just had a fantastic weekend here in Wroclaw seeing the sights. Wroclaw is famous for it's dwarfs ! They're brilliant - they're everywhere .. I think there's about 200 of them. I saw lots of them over the weekend, but still have a lot more to find ..
I went to visit Ostrow Tumski. It's a really lovely district - very historical and beautiful. It's got lots of very traditional and very old churches and a huge cathedral .. The weather was great and I walked for miles !!!!!!!!!!!!! I was exhausted but I had a great weekend.
Here's a record of my travels ..
Night out with my new friends in Wroclaw
I'm here in Wroclaw (I'll have to explain to the Belfast crew how to say this. It's not what it looks like ! but I'm practising hard and I will be very good when I get back home to Belfast !). I'm spending a few weeks working here with all my new friends. It's a brilliant place and I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone here.
We had a night out in the museum across the road from the office. I had a great time exploring !!
< Here's some news & views from our night out Love Barney xx

London Town
Hi there friends and bloggers ...
I'm so excited to tell you about my first visit to London. I had a brilliant time. Kate brought me over. It was a very quick trip - just over in the evening, a full day in the London office where I met lots of new friends, and back home that evening. I had a fabulous trip.
I'm well used to the flights now, so I'm happy enough on a plane. I'd never been on a tube before (why do they call them tubes ? I thought it was toothpaste !).
Here's a few highlights of my brilliant trip to London.
Axiom / Barnardo's Quiz ..
Hi Folks,
Have to tell you about our first big fundraising event for our Axiom Engage Charity - Barnardo's.
My Mum, Charlene, and the Axiom Engage committee arranged a Pub Quiz and my Uncle Colin was Quiz Master. He was fab - a real Pro. (Well I would say that - my team won !!).
It was a fantastic evening. We all really enjoyed the quiz and we raised lots of money for Barnardo's.
Thanks to everyone who worked hard to make it a big success.
Here's a little review of the evening ..
Love, Barney xx.
My Holidays !!

Summer Fun ...
Sorry I haven't been blogging for a while - I've been busy ! See my friends above, that's Grace, Conleth and Oscar Mallon. I've had a few sleep overs with them during the summer. We've had a great time - been to the park.
Had a really nice time on the swings. Then I brought Bumble for a walk. We walked for miles. I was exhausted when we got home ! Had to have a rest.
Here's Grace and me at work .. we have a great little initiative underway. Grace makes loom band necklaces for our Id badges and my friends in the office give a donation to my Barnardo's Charity to wear them,. They're great fun. They're Orange (of course ) and they smell orange !
I love wearing mine and so do all my friends in the office.
Huge thanks to Grace for making them - we love them and they make lots of money for our Axiom Engage Charity - Barnadro's.
Bye for now,
Love,
Barney xx.

Barney goes to the North Coast ..
What a day out ... great fun !! |
Hi again,
Well I've just had a wonderful weekend up on the North Coast. First, we played a great game of golf at Royal Portrush ..... fantastic course.
Some fella called Rory has the course record of 61. I didn't quite challenge that !
In fact, I don't think they let bears play .. so I had to hide in a golf bag till we got away from the first tee .. but it was well worth it. We had a fantastic day ..
Next day I went for a spin along the coast and saw the lovely beaches and I called into Bushmills distillery, just to check out how they make the Whiskey. Had a little taste .. it was lovely.
Here's a little reminder of my weekend up on the coast ..
Breaking News !!!!
Remember yer man with the course record at Portrush, Rory. He's just won the Open Championship
He's my hero .. I'm very happy !! Well Done Rory ..

Paws for thought ...
Hi everyone,
Well I've had a wonderful time on my World Tour, but I want to tell you what it's all about ...
See my Paw Print above. It shows Barnardo's. It's the Children's Charity that my friends in Axiom Belfast have partnered up with for the Axiom Engage program. We're going to be launching at the end of July and we'll be running some programs and events to help with the Children's Charity. I'm really looking forward to that and I'll write again soon to tell you all about it and how you can get involved and help.
Thanks to everyone for following my blog. Bye for now,
Barney xx.
Home Sweet Home ..
You always know you're home when you see the Tayto !!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a quick flight back (you usually get some tail winds on the way back) and were home in no time.
I was exhausted after my trip and had a quiet weekend. I watched the football on Sunday.
The final was great. It got very exciting in extra time, so I had to move up closer to the TV ..
Well, that's the end of the first leg of my World Tour. I had a fantastic time. Special thanks to all my new friends in the New York office. They made me very welcome !
Looking forward to my next trip. Till then - All the best for now ..

Leaving the Big Apple ...
Hi there,
Thursday was our last day in The Big Apple .. I was so sorry to leave all my new friends, but good to be heading home to Belfast.
We took a big yellow cab to work as we had lots of bags to carry. We had a hard day's work. I met up with some friends for lunch in the kitchen. Here's Rethna, Matthew and Makensie ..
They all dropped by to say Goodbye today, which was really nice.
All too soon it was time to leave. We took a posh car to the airport. It was a nice journey and we arrived in time to grab some dinner before the flight.
There were lots of people at the airport and we had to queue up again to get out of the US.
Here I am saying an official goodbye to the US at the airport ...
John was asking me some tough questions over dinner. I was a bit tired and couldn't really answer them all
So I just looked out at the planes - lots to look at and I had a nice relaxing time before we boarded. I also did a bit of shopping ..

What do you think of my new shirt ?? I bought it at the airport from the lovely lady in the picture. She thought I looked so cute in my new T Shirt that she took this photo and sent it to her husband !! Fame at last !!. I had a quick Big Mac and them had a little nap before boarding.
Here I am getting ready for take off .. up, up and away ...

Duvet Day ...
Duvet Day |
I'm afraid I had to have a Duvet Day today. I was so tired after my exploits with the whiteboard yesterday. It was very nice. I watched the football again. The Argentina v Holland match was much better. My heart was in my mouth during the penalties .. great fun. Can't wait for the final.
Can you believe this is our last night in New York .. going home tomorrow evening.
We went out for a nice dinner tonight at a little Italian, just down the road from the hotel. We ate outside .. very continental. It was lovely.
It was a nice warm evening and I thoroughtly enjoyed relaxing and chatting over dinner.
John bought me a nice glass of wine to celebrate my first trip to New York.
Well - best get a good night's sleep, coz I have another hard day's work tomorrow before the flight home.
Bye for Now,
Barney xx.
And so to Work ...
I was the scribe today .. very hard going |
Sorry that today's blog is a bit late. I had a hard day's work today, and I was exhausted. We were all together today in double down (strange name for a room, but then this New York ).
I was the scribe today. I had to make all the notes and draw on the whiteboard. I was kept very busy - well you know what Kate and John and Mark are like when they get going .. tons to write up. I thought they'd never finish.
I met Ajanta today and Candace.
Poor Ajanta landed from a very long flight from Gurgaon and came straight to the office .. very brave. She was wide awake ! more alert than I was today.
When we finished, we all went to the kitchen to watch the football (Yes - I know, strange place to be watching football .. but this is New York !).
Did you ever see such a one sided boring match ! I couldn't believe it.. 5 - Nil after half an hour.
Quite a few people left and went back to work. but I decided to stick it out and watch till the end ..
We went back to doubledown and finished off our meetings. I had to clean off the whiteboard and write up a few more sessions .. it's hard work !
After we finished, we all went to a really nice restaurant for dinner. I was starving. We were sitting in a great little snug. It was like being in the wine cellar .. loads of bottles. Nobody paid any attention to me as I checked out all the bottles. I had a great time !
Mark's dinner looked nice. I had some of that.
Everyone really enjoyed their meals. We chatted about the day's work and the football ! And what we're going to do tomorrow.
Then it was time for dessert. There were a few extras, so I got one to myself. It was gorgeous ..
It was getting hard to keep my eyes open ! so we headed off home. I went in a yellow cab with Ajanta.
Another great day in the Big Apple . I'm off to bed now.
Will write again tomorrow,
Love,
Barney xx.
